HAPPY BIRTHDAY

5th November:

I was looking at the calendar. Today is Hafiz's first day exam for semester one in UTM.

AND, oh gosh!!!!!!!! What else about November??? Oh have I gone... into "senior moments" period? I thought, I paused, thought and paused again.

What about November? Diyanah's birthday was the last before MINE? Oh! Is that so? No one else having birthdays in November...I put the calender down and tried recalling but to no avail. Never mind...lets go to bed earlier tonight.

After all, I have been watching the grand opening ceremony of the Grand World Endurance held at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin's stadium, in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. It started at 9:00pm and had ended about 11:00pm. It ended with a spectacular fire works that brightened up the City of Kuala Terengganu... and I must add... shortly before the ceremony ended, the Knight in Shining Armor, a young Prince of Arabia (?) on White Horse, performed with his six white horses to the amazement of the viewers.

NOW!

6th November 2008...

Quietly I came down to look for AH if he was ready in his fresh clothes... He fell off the bed last night. So I was told by AH's Mama. What?

I went to the kitchen and got waters boiling for his flasks, the purple is for his feed and the meroun is to warm his Avent milk bottles. Ok, what next? Oh, I shall warm up last night's left overs and get them ready for my breakfast? Oh no! Too much. Remember, I am supposed to reduce weight?

Okay, now Mama is ready to go to work.

Tra la la la la LA!LA!.

Happy birthday to ME, suddenly Mama gave an out burst!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAah no wonder I was pausing, thinking and pausing for quite a while last night.

Embarrassed ... I told her what had actually happened last night while holding the calendar in my hands. She gave a "dry" smile...

BUT anyway, I sang happy birthday to her as I sent her to work. I knew she might have been disappointed...how could I have forgotten her birthday????????? My eldest daughter's birthday... "Senior moments" Tasha! How could I , Indeed!!!!

Yes, things like that happened unintentionally. It might upset someone dear to you but...I hope it did not hurt her. Anyway, I have soaked some glutenous rice to be steamed when she comes home this evening from the hospital where she works. I still have some left overs of chicken rendang that I prepared yesterday for last night's guests.

I hope that makes it up to her...for my forgetfulness.

Chicken Rendang

6 stalks of finely cut serai (lime grass)
1 " galanggal
1 red onion - large OR 10 shallots
1" ginger
1" fresh turmeric
2 cups coconut milk
1 packet - kerisik
10 dried chillies
sugar, salt to taste
Chicken - all the meat parts from one chicken.

Blend all ingredients. Put all in clay pot for better cooking. Boil all for one hour, add in chicken. After another hour, add kerisik, salt and sugar. Simmer on very slow fire till they dried up BUT not burnt! Once done, add turmeric leaves.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TASHA

No fear, she will understand. Oh so I am 3 months plus older than you.

At our age it is both understandable and forgiveable that we forget things.

It is getting worst for me lately...I keep on forgetting things...things like bringing with me my office room keys, my handphone...

I hope Tasha forgives you...

Your birthday is in September then????

Hahahahahahahahahahhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Real senior moments... memory lapse?

Never mind... now the nasi kunyit is on its second stage of steaming after stirring in coconut milk. AND?

AH just woken up but I pretended not looking at him. He received a surprise visitor just now. It was Wan Jie coming to download the pictures taken last week.

When I looked at the pictures, amazingly AH had his third change of t-shirt for that day as the one he puts on today! Yellow T-shirt and Dark blue long pants.

He now needs longer pants because he is most time on the floor. He is screaming at me as though he knew what I wrote up there a while ago.

The Dutches,

guess what? Tasha could hardly enjoy the luxury of sitting and browsing through the blogs.

Once home, ...needless to describe here... till the time she gets to bed... everything else is history.

I would surely convey your wishes to her when she gets home this evening.

so sweet of you to come by.

I have this habit of writing down notes as well BUT by the time you needed it the most????It's not there!
TQ

I can relate on the forgetfullness. It's just part of life.

I changed my banner a few weeks ago. I was tired of looking at the same thing. Not to worry though, I will change it again soon. Maybe another picture of Sunbonnet Cottage.

RoayalTLady, thank you so much for coming by to visit my blog and for your kind comments.

I came over to visit you as well, and I'm sorry you're saddened by having forgotten your daughter's birthday. If it's any consolation, we *all* do things like that and then beat ourselves up over them. I'm sure your daughter knows how much you love her and would not be upset with you.

Thanks also for sharing the recipe, sounds delicious!

Come back for tea anytime... :)

Melody,

Thank you for tea invites! I love tea. today I had one teapot full of Harrod's brand... I received it from my sis and her hubby. They had probably got it form Harrods during their last visit a couple of months ago.

Which recipe did you notice?

Melissa,

I am looking forward to see your new banner...

Melody,

Kerisik is dessicated coconut-pan- fried without oil...till light brown. Then use dry blender... work it up until it turned into paste.
