5th November:
I was looking at the calendar. Today is Hafiz's first day exam for semester one in UTM.
AND, oh gosh!!!!!!!! What else about November??? Oh have I gone... into "senior moments" period? I thought, I paused, thought and paused again.
What about November? Diyanah's birthday was the last before MINE? Oh! Is that so? No one else having birthdays in November...I put the calender down and tried recalling but to no avail. Never mind...lets go to bed earlier tonight.
After all, I have been watching the grand opening ceremony of the Grand World Endurance held at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin's stadium, in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. It started at 9:00pm and had ended about 11:00pm. It ended with a spectacular fire works that brightened up the City of Kuala Terengganu... and I must add... shortly before the ceremony ended, the Knight in Shining Armor, a young Prince of Arabia (?) on White Horse, performed with his six white horses to the amazement of the viewers.
NOW!
6th November 2008...
Quietly I came down to look for AH if he was ready in his fresh clothes... He fell off the bed last night. So I was told by AH's Mama. What?
I went to the kitchen and got waters boiling for his flasks, the purple is for his feed and the meroun is to warm his Avent milk bottles. Ok, what next? Oh, I shall warm up last night's left overs and get them ready for my breakfast? Oh no! Too much. Remember, I am supposed to reduce weight?
Okay, now Mama is ready to go to work.
Tra la la la la LA!LA!.
Happy birthday to ME, suddenly Mama gave an out burst!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAah no wonder I was pausing, thinking and pausing for quite a while last night.
Embarrassed ... I told her what had actually happened last night while holding the calendar in my hands. She gave a "dry" smile...
BUT anyway, I sang happy birthday to her as I sent her to work. I knew she might have been disappointed...how could I have forgotten her birthday????????? My eldest daughter's birthday... "Senior moments" Tasha! How could I , Indeed!!!!
Yes, things like that happened unintentionally. It might upset someone dear to you but...I hope it did not hurt her. Anyway, I have soaked some glutenous rice to be steamed when she comes home this evening from the hospital where she works. I still have some left overs of chicken rendang that I prepared yesterday for last night's guests.
I hope that makes it up to her...for my forgetfulness.
Chicken Rendang
6 stalks of finely cut serai (lime grass)
1 " galanggal
1 red onion - large OR 10 shallots
1" ginger
1" fresh turmeric
2 cups coconut milk
1 packet - kerisik
10 dried chillies
sugar, salt to taste
Chicken - all the meat parts from one chicken.
Blend all ingredients. Put all in clay pot for better cooking. Boil all for one hour, add in chicken. After another hour, add kerisik, salt and sugar. Simmer on very slow fire till they dried up BUT not burnt! Once done, add turmeric leaves.
