FOUND YET ANOTHER LONG LOST PAL

Alhamdulillah syukur (Thank God).

She is still the same old sweet and polite lady that I befriended in the 70's.

MORE PICTURES ...unprofessional shots

Without them the National Anthem wouldn't have been there. That did us proud for being a Malaysian. They were from the Royal Regiment... am not too sure if they were from The PDRM or The Military band.

These were part of the team that made the occasion as successful as it were.

The Premier's wife shaking hands with someone she possibly knew too well... Look at those beautiful beading work on her striking pink garment.
Sorry Sir, Mr.Prime Minister. I lost it ... it doesn't enter my frame. My Wrong calculation and estimation of the distance...
All the semi pro photographers were in action to obtain the best shot of His Majesty The King. I believed the gentleman in maroon baju melayu was the songket expert... TI.

Amidst the huge crowd and a long queue, His Royal Highness still appeared regal as he ended his handshakes... Far behind under the yellow umbrella were The Queen and their princesses.

A close up of Her Majesty The Queen and the two Princesses

That marked the end of the celebration... until June the 5th 2011...

OUR KING'S BIRTHDAY

WE, me and my pic, have arrived on time for the garden party at the Grand Palace for our beloved King's Birthday.
The entrance appeared calm as we were making a turn to look for an appropriate spot to get down. Cars with chauffeurs were allowed to make a turn nearer to the main gate.

This is the main gate to the palace

The Policeman is seen guarded the traffic as we drew nearer to the entrance

I did not take any pictures as we were walking into the Palace garden. It was too hot and humid to even handle the camera. We were more than anything, anxious to find our appropriate tent with the help of the usherettes who were sweating in their beautiful make-ups without any umbrellas above their heads.

After we found our seats, I had tried to divert my own attention from focusing on the hot sun, lacking of fans, sweating and much uneasiness felt. A little comfort was found when familiar faces from the movies and TV dramas were around us. They were the pretty, handsome and famous actress and actors of Malaysia.

Several shots were tried. This one shows The Royal tent in yellow color and quite far ahead from where we were seated. Nearest to us was the deserts served by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The tallest of them all was the fruit salads placed alternately in a large tall bowl (?). The towering sticks were cheese sticks placed in an equally large tall bowl (?). There were assorted puddings served but only durian puddings had caught my appetite. Fresh fruits were my next course. What about the main meal? Ahaaa, deserts first! Next, I had mee mamak which was so delicious, a couple sticks of chicken and beef satay with nasi impit and a mini murtabak. That had already filled our tummy. Plain water was no where to be found. Funny, eh? We had to make do with hot tea and ice-cooled sweet red syrup.

Despite the brightly-shone afternoon sun had caught our delicate eyes, we still tried to catch a glimpse of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen who were ushered under those yellow royal umbrellas.
You bet what had happened to the dignitaries who had turned up in full suits and the uniformed guards and policemen ...their sweats were pouring down!

As he was heavily guarded, we still managed to "capture"him on our cams. I was one of those who had lifted my arms high and mighty... (shame on me)....I don't want to miss this special occasion taking pictures of him personally. This is the first time in five years I came close to see him in person. Otherwise, I only found the opportunity via television during his official duties and Friday Prayers.

The King is in peach pink Malay attire and matching colored garments worn by the Queen. He appeared to be looking at me or my cam!!!

Behind the Queen is our Prime Minister in shocking pink baju melayu and his wife in an equally matching color. They all shook hands with the guests who had faithfully formed the bee line despite the hot and scorching sun above our pretty heads. You could imagine in which row I was with so many images caught in front of me.

(At the very least these shots took away our attention from those previous hot topics which had welcomed no comments at all. News spoke louder than words, I guess.)
More pictures were taken on our way out after this hand shakes. I shall try to upload later.

OH ALLAH

“O Allah, We seek Your help; we beseech Your forgiveness.

We affirm our faith in You; we praise You.

We reject and abandon everyone who forsakes You.

O Allah, You alone do we worship; unto You alone we pray, and before You alone we prostrate in worship.

Unto You alone we strive and implore.

We cherish hope in Your mercy; we fear Your chastisement.

Most certainly, Your stern punishment will overtake those who reject the truth.

O Allah, we ask Your help against the aggressive Zionists who have committed crimes (against the oppressed), who have violated the sanctities, and killed, and dispersed the oppressed in Palestine.

O Allah, they cannot overwhelm You.

O Allah, You who are the Lord of the oppressed,
Help the oppressed (against their oppressors).

O Allah, show us Your miraculous powers in dealing with them (i.e. the aggressors).

O Allah, make their plans a plan for their destruction.

Make their armies a source of their own defeat.

Make their prison a prison for them.

O Allah, help the oppressed against the oppressors in all parts of the world.

O Allah, have mercy on the Ummah of Muhammad.

O Allah, bring relief to the Ummah of Muhammad.

O Allah, You are the twister of hearts, make our feet steadfast on the path of truth.

O Allah, make us all guides unto truth and make us rightly guided.

O Allah, bless and send peace on Your Prophet and Messenger Muhammad and his entire family and Companions

MALAYSIA WANTS AID TO FLOW TO GAZA WITHOUT FEAR OF ISRAELI REGIME

MALAYSIA WANTS AID TO FLOW TO GAZA WITHOUT FEAR OF ISRAELI REGIME
KUALA LUMPUR, June 7 2010 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today tabled a special motion in the Dewan Rakyat condemning an Israeli attack on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla, and urged the international community to continue providing humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine in blockaded Gaza without heed or fear of the threat from the Israeli regime.

He also criticised the United Nations Security Council which he said adopted a partial stand when it came to issues involving the Israeli regime.

The 15-point motion called on the UN Security Council to condemn the Zionist regime under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu which had attacked the Freedom Flotilla humanitarian aid convoy in international waters on May 31.

"Malaysia records the utmost disappointment over the weak statement of the United Nations Security Council against the violent attack of the Zionist regime on the aid ship.

"Malaysia calls on the United Nations Security Council to condemn Israel and not just make weak statements," he said.

The motion was seconded by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

While expressing support for the international call for an independent and accountable investigation into the attack, Najib said, Malaysia called on like-minded countries to bring a resolution to the UN Security Council to refer the Zionist regime's attack on the Turkish aid ship "Mavi Marmara" to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

He said it was also proposed that like-minded countries bring a resolution to the United Nations General Assembly to seek an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Describing Israel as a "world gangster", the prime minister said the regime's arrogant attitude resulted from its assumption that it was protected by a world power.

In this connection, he said, Malaysia wished to call on the United States to fulfill its moral obligation in ensuring that the Israeli regime adhered to responsible and civilised norms of a nation state.

"So long as the US support for the Zionist regime was total and not conditional to adherence to universal humanitarian values, there will no end to the arrogance of this regime," he said.

On the setting up of an independent international commission of investigation, Najib said Malaysia had no objections if former New Zealand prime minister Sir Geoffrey Palmer was selected to head the body.

He also said that Malaysia called for the Israeli regime to make compensation payments for all seized property, including the ships, foodstuff and construction and medical supplies, as well as all private belongings confiscated from the activists in the flotilla.

"Malaysia also calls for Israel to make compensation payments resulting from the psychological, mental and physical trauma, as well as any other compensation deemed fit by the international court," he said to the thumping of the tables in agreement by the MPs.

Najib said Malaysia's commitment to the struggle of the Palestinian people had been conveyed to Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas during the latter's recent visit to Kuala Lumpur.

The prime minister also recorded the highest appreciation to the governments of Jordan, Turkey, Ireland and the Philippines as well as other countries which had helped to secure the release of the Malaysian nationals detained during the attack on the aid ship.

Describing the 12 Malaysian activists as national heroes, Najib said Malaysia was also proud of six other Malaysian heroes who had been on the aid ship Rachel Corrie for their determination to carry on the mission despite realising the risks involved.

In seconding the motion, Muhyiddin said the weak stand of the UN Security Council against Israel did not reflect sincerity in ending the most critical humanitarian crime of this century.

He said that so long as international institutions such as the UN Security Council failed to act against the atrocities of the Zionist regime, concerned segments of the international community would make bolder moves to break through the Israeli blockade.

"The attack on the Mavi Marmara and the killing of the activists on board are the result of the arrogance and wickedness of the Zionist regime, which cannot be pardoned," he said.

He expressed regret that the long arm of the law seemed to be powerless in stopping the military of the Israeli regime from enforcing the law of the jungle.

Muhyiddin urged all members of parliament to set aside their political differences and unite under the leadership of the prime minister in expressing their strongest condemnation for the extreme action of the Zionist regime in attacking and killing unarmed volunteers in international waters.

SAFELY ARRIVED

Six M'sians on Rachel Corrie, captured by Israeli forces, arrive safely in Jordan (Update 2)

By SHAHANAAZ HABIB

KUALA LUMPUR: The six Malaysians on board the seized MV Rachel Corrie arrived safely in Jordan at about 5pm Sunday after Israeli authorities expelled them early Sunday.

Like the 12 Malaysians captured by Israelis on Monday's raid on the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara, the six are expected to board a flight home to Malaysia as soon as possible.

One of the six, journalist Shamsul Akmar, said that Israeli authorities had confiscated their cameras, laptops and mobile phone SIM cards.

As Malaysia has no diplomatic contact with Israel, the six would try to get their possessions back through the Thai embassy in Israel, he said.

“Generally, we were well treated,” said Shamsul.

Aside from Shamsul, the others are lawyer Matthias Chang, Parit Member of Parliament Mohd Nizar Zakaria, activist Ahmad Faizal Azumu, and TV3 crew members Halim Mohamed and Mohd Jufri Judin.

Earlier Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had said that the Jordanian Foreign Ministry had informed the Malaysian Embassy that the six Malaysians would enter Jordan via the King Hussein Bridge.

"As for the latest status of Rachel Corrie, I was informed by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman that the ship was seized by the Israeli army about 30 nautical miles from Gaza.

"They were taken to Port Ashdod and the 19 passengers and crew, including six Malaysians are safe," Muhyiddin told reporters at KLIA earlier Sunday.

Muhyiddin was at the airport to receive 12 Malaysians who were detained by Israeli defence forces while on board aid ship Mavi Marmara that was heading to Gaza with humanitarian aid, and later released from an Israeli prison.

The Deputy Prime Minister also gave his assurance that the Malaysian government would continue to assist humanitarian missions aimed at helping the people of Palestine.

He added that Malaysia would also support attempts and calls by anyone to condemn the Israeli government for such violence.

"It is up to the people, if they want to take any form of action, the government will not stop them.

"We will support such initiatives, including that by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who initiated the mission. We will give the necessary aid and support," he said.

Michael Oren (file image)Michael Oren said Israel would not apologise for the incident

Israel will reject a proposed international commission to investigate its deadly raid on a Gaza aid flotilla, its ambassador to the US has said.

Michael Oren told US broadcaster Fox News that Israel has the ability and the right to investigate its own military.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon had earlier telephoned Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu with the proposal.

Nine people died when Israeli commandos stormed the Turkish ship last week.

"We are rejecting an international commission. We are discussing with the Obama administration a way in which our inquiry will take place," Mr Oren told Fox News Sunday.

He said Israel would not apologise for the incident. Eight of those killed were Turkish, and the ninth had joint US-Turkish nationality.

The proposed commission was to have included representatives from the US, Turkey and Israel and could have been headed by former New Zealand Prime Minister Geoffrey Palmer.

Meanwhile, Israel has deported seven activists who tried to sail another aid ship to Gaza in defiance of Israel's blockade.

They were among 11 campaigners and eight crew detained after troops boarded their ship the Rachel Corrie.

Israel stepped up its blockade of Gaza in 2007, when the Islamist Hamas movement took control of the territory, and says its policies will not change while Hamas remains in power.

Protesters gather in front of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France, on Monday during a demonstration against Israel's deadly raid on an aid flotilla.
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • Protesters demonstrate against Israel's storming of humanitarian flotilla
  • Demonstrations take place in New York, Paris and Baghdad
  • Israelis protest Turkish involvement in the incident
(CNN) -- As world leaders came out Monday against an Israeli raid on a flotilla carrying humanitarian supplies to Gaza, so did protesters in various cities around the world.
In New York's Times Square, more than 500 people gathered and then marched through midtown to the Israeli consulate.
One of the protest's organizers, Lamis Deek, told CNN that planning for the protest began almost immediately as soon as news of the Israel's storming of the flotilla was broadcast. At least nine pro-Palestinian activists, who were trying to deliver aid to Gaza by circumventing an Israeli blockade, were killed.
The incident exposed "what the Israeli government and its structures are capable of doing and what their intentions are, not just toward the Palestinian people, but rather toward the Arab world and anyone who challenges their policies," Deek said.
In France, hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators, throwing rocks and beer bottles, fought police Monday night in an attempt to reach the Israeli Embassy in Paris.
Police closed the Champs Elysees to traffic as they confronted nearly 1,000 protesters.

Police arrested several demonstrators and fired tear gas in an effort to disperse the crowd. French political figure and trade unionist Olivier Besancenot appeared at the demonstration.
Demonstrators smashed a police truck window, and attempted to force their way through police lines blocking the embassy.
At 8:15 p.m., (2:15 p.m. ET) as the crowd appeared to be breaking up, the police were making what appeared to be a final push to disperse the crowd.
Meanwhile, hundreds of supporters of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr took to the streets of Baghdad, Iraq, in protest.
The demonstrators carried Palestinian flags, Iraqi flags, banners and pictures of al-Sadr.
They chanted: "No, no Israel, no, no America, yes, yes Palestine."
Some of the banners were written in English and strongly criticized Israel's response to the flotilla.
"My message to the world and especially to the Islamic and Arab world (is) that they should take practical steps to punish Israel not only on this crime but on all the crimes that Israel has committed before because the condemn and denounce letters and messages are not enough anymore," one of the protesters, Abdul Zahar al-Tamimi told CNN.
A number of Iraqi parliament members and politicians participated in the protest, including the Iraqi interior minister.
Israelis themselves also protested, but against Turkey for calling an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council Monday.
Hundreds of Israelis in Tel Aviv gathered in front of the Turkish Embassy there to protest Turkish involvement in the incident, according to the website Ynet.
CNN's Kiran Khalid, Niki Cook and Mohammed Tawfeeq contributed to this report.
