Good bye Hafiz ..... 7:45a.m 4th July.. all packed and ready to leave for his next 2.5 more years to complete his Degree In Industrial computer in UTM.HELLO and....
He was probably from the plants in the pots or in the planters box nearby. Harith and aunty Zaza walked by unnoticed. Hafiz was loading his belongings into the car, walked passed it... also unnoticed.
I managed all these shots from inside the house via the glass side door. We were about two feet away from each other.Friday, July 3, 2009
7:40a.m - 6:00p.m. JOURNEY

THE EARLY bird woke up at three in the morning to pack her stuffs. Getting things ready to be "on the move via nomadic-university-programs"... you know what I mean? Lol! Since February this year, this is going to be Diyanah's third registration to enroll in our local university. Perhaps? Nope! No more perhaps. This is final. Every private university is about to begin with their formal lectures and the long rigmarole of "history to their future" should start by Monday. The others have started since May and foundation courses have started even much earlier in INTEC, MARA where Diyanah first enrolled.
To her liking or not, her days began in February with packing (to enroll to a new place), unpacking (to begin with lectures) and packing (to go home leaving the university). Meanwhile, thesis presentation had begun and she had done hers... Apparently, I asked her to leave on Thursday the 14th of May and Her second enrollment (into the Univ.of Malaya) took place on the 15th of May, the last day to of registration for freshies. After about two months...
A new life, a new beginning and another history started today, 2nd July in a private university college, Cyber Jaya University College of Medical Sciences. This time the packing (from this bedroom) and unpacking (in her new apartment) is final until, insyaAllah six years from now... ...
As soon as we (Me aka RTL, Hafiz and Zaza - Diyanah's elder sis) hit the MEX highway, it rained so heavily and the visibility was evidently poor (so, no photo shots). The haze that came since beginning of April, added to the unhealthy air around. It remains bad even after the rain went away.
The registration started at 9:30a.m. but when we arrived at 8:20a.m., there were already early (er) birds in the registration hall. As we approached the lobby area, we were greeted by the university staffs and the first and third year students on duty.
The HR manager whom I have been in communication for the past two days, since Tuesday, was entertaining some other students with their registration forms. We have not met each other but we spoke on the phones a lot. I was told she was dressed in red attire. I spotted her and waited until she finished with the girls. As soon as she turned,
"Kak (sister) Emy is it?" she asked with a broad smile and warmly hugging me.
"Yes, it's me" said I offering her a big, (huge perhaps) grin with equally warm hug. This is customary only when meeting old friends but ... thank God, she offered me one. After introducing her to my (big) children, she turned to Diyanah. Business and formalities were about to start.
"Ok Diyanah, come this way. Please take your time, fill up all the forms and do not worry, we are around to see them before you queue up to submit them" she continued and showing to the direction to go.

Apparently as I was told, Diyanah's name has been famous there for the past two days. But WHY? Because the sponsor (JPA - a government scholarship) never printed her name anywhere, never "formally" submitted to the university , so they did not issue her any formal "Letter OF Offer"... LOL! All conversations were through the phones and the confirmation from the sponsor was also through the phone. Believe it or not? But it was true. The emails confirming details about the registration and all the jezz of "formalities" never arrived although it was sent twice to her. Never mind! I was asked to fill in her name following some "printed" names in a list of students registration. (her name was not missing but was never printed).
No wonder Diyanah asked me the night before,
"Mummy, is this true? The offer, I mean?" doubtfully she asked.
"Yes, of course!" confidently I answered her. ...as though I knew for sure....
After they offered us some refreshment, we waited for the next "order" of the day. Parent (s) were then invited into the posh looking auditorium for briefings. I was seated in the third row, patiently waiting for them to start.

One thing I was concerned about was the lecturers. Hence, I paid serious attention to this topic. They were nothing short of Professors (junior and senior) . The briefings lasted about 40 minutes done by senior board members (including the programme's head and the provost).

By 12:00 noon, arrangements were announced to ferry students and parent(s) to their apartments about one kilometer away by transportation provided. No private vehicles were allowed in there to assure smooth flow of "delivery system" (?). It is right besides the MMU (Multi Media University). The residential area is mixed between students from other universities (Lim Kok Weng Univ and MMU) and the public.

After unloading her belongings, we went out for lunch and sent her back to the apartment for her to get ready with the next "order" of the day... orientation programme.
By 3:30p.m we went for our prayer in this magnificent and grand mosque, The Putra Jaya Mosque. It was under massive renovation but I was ushered to the ablution area with much less problems. Once finished I did not forget to take pictures to share with you, bloggers.

The last "duty" before going home, was to deliver a letter to the sponsor's office, JPA. Hafiz went up alone while we waited in the car... Hafiz is also a JPA scholar (a government scholarship)
Hafiz took the wheel (to and fro) and... he overshot the exit to our "zone" as he drove too fast to maneuver... so there we were... taking the longer journey home. Right into the City Center, passing Jalan Tun Razak (circular ring road), turning into KLCC, then Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Sri Smantan, Jalan Damansara and finally into Jalan Dato' Abu Bakar.
Thanks Hafiz, Zaza and me for making this "long trip" a tiring yet fruitful one. By Saturday, Hafiz is leaving his campus... 350 kilometer away.
....more pics to follow in the next post... its 2:15a.m. now... I should go to bed and get some rest.

Smart, tricks
Last week:
Harith and his parents went to UMMC for his regular injections and check ups. I guess they had discussions about his progress and all sorts.
When they came home, I was told Professor Paul Tay (who had delivered him) commented the followings:
* Harith is supposed to start eating on his own.
* Harith is supposed to hold his milk bottle himself.
* Harith this, Harith that...
Okay, so we negotiated with him,
"If you don't want to hold the bottle yourself, you won't get this milk" as taught by Prof.
Hafiz tried in the morning. I tried in the afternoon.
Episode One:
When Hafiz tried, he let off the bottle, crying, sulking for a few minutes and had to be pacified, which took quite some time to be comforted. So, he won. Uncle Hafiz lost the first battle.
In the afternoon, I tried. Guess how he reacted? He gave similar little cry , putting away his hands, stiffen them and let off the bottle from his mouth. A few minutes later, he laughed and lied down on his tummy. Believe it or not? AND Like it or not, I had to put the milk bottle into his mouth and he finished the whole bottle lying tummy down without holding the bottle.
Okay, he won!
I thought he had forgotten the "deal"... so, this afternoon, he asked for the milk. When I was ready to feed him, he was already on his tummy. with hands stiff and putting by his sides. Hahahahaha, smart Harith. Okay, he won.
He knew IT! Had he hold the bottle, we would not be with him, by his side... clever little Amir Harith.

Busy WEDNESDAY
This morning:
I first went with my eldest daughter to the hospital to get some medicine for some insect bites. Not a very long wait, probably it was due to a queued-jumping . Once I got my medicine, Hafiz came to fetch me with Harith strapped in his seat and we went to Diyanah's hostel to get all her belongings, home. Meanwhile, I had my breakfast there ... quite late though... it was almost 10:00a.m. Before leaving, I bought some dishes for our lunch. They were quite cheap.
I accompanied Diyanah up to her twin-sharing room on level 7. Two trips with our hands full on each trip, down to the car. Once her stuffs were packed in the car, home we came. Harith's sleeping time drew nearer. He was making so much noise. I was on this laptop, checking mails and reading comments in my blog. Happy that I managed to make new friends.
Then Hafiz and Diyanah had to go to the stamping office for Hafiz's scholarship forms. Harith and I were left at home. Another alarm came from Harith. He needed his milk, another one.? Once settled and sound asleep, I started feeling hungry and had my lunch while watching the News @ One Thirty at almost 1:45pm. .. .. not so nice to hear...another Air France's mishap, yet again?
Then, back to this laptop... another phone call from the (now got its correct name) Cyber Jaya University College of Medicine... giving details of what to bring along tomorrow morning for registration. How about her belongings? Are we going into the hostels? NOPE! Nor allowed. They would be housed in the elite Cyber Jaya Smart Home housing estate. Their buses and vans would transport the student sinto these homes. We just have to send her for registration and leave her there...in the college which is situated at this prestigious INVENT QJaya Building.
One of the items to be brought tomorrow is a 5 piece-colored photogrphs which Diyanah said, no problem at all because she has 40 pieces of them with her!!! Lol!
Again!!! I am very lucky as Hafiz is still around to help. Sister Zaza is taking leave to see her off and Papa (my sil) is taking leave to take care of Harith... Hafiz would be back to his campus (now 2nd year degree in Industrial Computer) on the 4th of July to resume hi studies. His campus is 350 kilometers away, approximate.
By next week, life should be back to "normal" with no more helping hands around . Otherwise it was , "Hafiz, please see to Harith for me", Hafiz this, Hafiz that... NO more luxury, no one to drive me around and no more pop in and out of shopping malls. I would have to drive myself and handle things like before his 2 months long holiday...May-June........sob, sob, sob!
ALAS! Aloha Diyanah, Aloha Hafiz. Be on your way to "seek success and build your future from now on"... All The Best and May Allah Bless you all the way. Amin.

NO POST FOR MONDAY, TUESDAY
MONDAY morning:
8:30a.m: getting ready to go for my religious class nearby, at KGPA.
9:20a.m: went upstairs into the banquet hall. Before I was seated, a friend offered me
a slice of steamed cake. Chatted for while about this cake, told her that mine turned out to be an albino because I did wait for the caramel to be brown. Looking across, I saw an old friend from college. We invited ourselves for lunch on campus (UM).
9:30a.m:our teacher started the class.
12:00noon: as soon as the formal lecture stopped and just as Q & A session was about
to begin, we signaled each other and left. Otherwise, there would be along queue to reach the traffic light down the lane.
After lunch, we each went our separate ways and home we got. Resting and then running errands. Did not touch this laptop...
TUESDAY
a.m: spending time with my grandson, Harith and Hafiz in the house.
11:30 a.m: missed a phone call from this important office. It must have been about
Diyanah , my youngest daughter. What now...
2:13p.m: Received Diyanah's sms. The sponsor (JPA) for her scholarship called.
Another offer!
Goodness ME! AND I was to accept the offer on behalf of my daughter, what????
Another decision making in a haste??? Am I going to make a blunder this time? Is this the correct one for her? I better called someone to find out, thought I.
2:20p.m: I got through to JPA office and spoke to one officer. Apparently, the Russian Medical course's scholarship is not convertible for Local Government Univ. , instead it's for studying in our local Private Univ. So, after getting the name and telephone number of this new private medical college, I contacted the Human Resource Manager. Not quite satisfied, for a second opinion I called the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) at the University Diyanah is currently studying. After much deliberation, I was satisfied with all the positive comments from him. He was also Harith's Mama's former lecturer in the same university when she was studying medic. some years ago and my PIC's former classmate in UM when she was doing medic before to do Econs in USM.
4:19p.m: Another call from JPA. This time, I have to give my final answer to accept or
not to accept because they want to key in her name and send it to this new college.
Since it was noted that this Cyber Jaya Medical College is reputable and recognised by the MMC (Malaysian Medical Council), with no hesitation and second thoughts, I replied:
"We accept"... This time, I did not feel that I was making wrong decision for my youngest daughter anymore.
So, by 5:00p.m., after her class she called and asked what was my answer to the JPA officer or shall we discuss later that night?
"Oh! You already gave them the answer? Oooo, ok." said Diyanah.
And what followed after this conversation was probably:
* she's a bit upset about leaving her good friends
*busy packing, gathering her stuff
*making arrangements when we could fetch her and her stuffs... and so on!
8:30a.m: getting ready to go for my religious class nearby, at KGPA.
8:50a.m: had breakfast, a plate of mixed fried fine noodle (bee hoon) with fat yellow noodles... sitting alone at the table while watching "have forgotten what"... golfing stuffs.
