DESASTROUS part two

Gracefully, gently, the thread weaved through this chiffon fabric with turquoise  beads held by the long thin flexible needle.  As always, excitement over-ruled my not-so-creative mind.  After taking a long look figuring out how and where to begin, I just told myself, start off somewhere and it would surely look good.  The over-crowded fabric design downplayed my already limited "amateur" capabilities.

With my "mini market" offers ranges of colors, I went through them all and that was the closest I had spotted.

Next I was to pick light purple color and voila!  Happily I sewed them as I like.  Getting more excited and sewing like on an F1 track...

Realizing  the massive lilac lines were still untapped, I ventured there excitedly.  Flickering beads suddenly filling up empty spaces and I was happy because I thought I had accomplished something.  BUT as soon as I took some pictures, there I was... blinking endlessly, alone in my workshop... (my bedroom) and you may guess where the work is done!  The camera obviously couldn't tell what they are!

So, I decided to unpick the purple beads.  What's left were the turquoise  See the thread hanging loosely?  They were the tangled threads that I had to cut while sewing.  Intended to tie them into knots later.. 

After leaving bare minimum of lilac, I went further to fill the outlines... just in case this time it works wonders.

So much unpicking done.  Luckily the fabric did not give way...  I was extremely careful no to shear the fabric... otherwise, there goes my brand new garment.

And obviously the design was extremely busy and over crowded.

Not quite satisfied with the sewing, I went round the flower and put more beads.  Now they look  like a bursting of fire work kind of thingy. All these had happened within these three weeks. 

The sewing, unpicking, re-threading, un this un that... oooooooooooo!  I just couldn't contemplate when I could wear this garment.

NOW, the busy design no longer look "much admired"... sob, sob, sob... more unpicking were done... so, now it' s hanging on the cloth hanger incomplete.

Dissatisfaction  arose!

I took another plunge at those sleeves.  I chose extremely dark green beads and finished off within two hours.

BUT the garment is still not wearable... I am still thinking how to finish off... perhaps... unpick everything on the body... What do you think?

DESASTROUS part one

POOR BEADER!!!!!!!!!

This little flower was not much of a problem. It's a bit isolated and spread over the garment. But whatever happened, I just love this dark green beads that I bought much earlier just in case I need them later. WELL, now I could use them.

It has been quite a while since my last quiet retreat into my beading land... excited with abundance of beads in my needlecraft basket (which I had bought on impulse),


new garments presented by my sister plus extra hands around to look after little Harith... I plunged into massive crowded design without much thoughts.

My little mini "shop" happened to offer just the right colors for these flowers... so there I was. This last picture is one of those final one that I accepted after much sewing and unpicking. There was only a packet of dark green beads. So I had to unpick from the crowded ones and distribute them fairly well...

Finally I got to wear this garment at a wedding a couple of weeks ago. It turned out simple and fairly attractive (by my standard that is).

OH DEAR! pART fOUR

i ALMost forGOT! I had unpicked someone's dress off its beads... (and now I have lost the pictures with some old designs)...

I must do it so it's ready for our Eid prayer on the 27th... it took me a few hours to complete it...(in total).

BEADING part 5

This is another garment belongs to Nadia. It's a very delicate chiffon fabric which requires extra attention while stitching.

The beads are stitched at her request, to duplicate my other design I previously made.

BEADING part 4

Straight stich beadings on a very dark brown brochade fabric belongs to Tasha, Harith's Mama.

The sewing is temporarily shelved because I have run out of the dark brown beads
for the middle opening of this kebaya.

Starting from the neck opening... This is Nadiah's baju kurong... a young relative
who is so petite and a gentle person.

BEADING part 2

This dark green Thai Silk baju kurong belongs to Nadia's mom. The phone cam did not bring any justice to me.... the color did not come out as it should be and the shots were very poor.

AMATEUR BEAD WORK

Make over on a head gear, a square scarf folded into triangles and worn with matching baju kurong... the beads were sewn to camouflage the faded embroidery threads.

Sleeves with more elaborate beads on a pale colored baju kurong...

Sleeves of my baju kurong (recycled ... the baju is almost 8 years old) that I sewn myself. Notice the hemming is quite fine. Today's tailors never sewn this "fine" (?).

When I tried to smoothen the slightly-crumpled-fabric on the other sleeve... guess what had happened to it???? Notice the darker color(???) in the picture at the bottom? It's the temperature setting doing the bit!!!! (not ME!)...Now my daughter never got to wear this blouse with beads on... sob, sob!

Sad piece of work (I have left the needle and thread intact, for months now)

Out of frustration, leaving the needle and thread on, still thinking out loud what to do with this uncompleted work... I can't figure out how other than buying a piece of new fabric and replace with new sleeves.

This dark blue baju kurong was worn by my youngest daughter on her "college graduation" night. It took me almost a week to complete the bead work. The main focus of this garment is on the sleeves and its bottom part.... knee high length...

This was my oldest bead work on my baju kurong... its almost in the middle part of the baju. Worn many times during different occasion as I love the purple color so much.
